Desha's photos include her very first time on sheep, at the age of 6 months, and her very last time on sheep, at the age of 14 1/2 years old.  Way back when, there weren't any herding trials, other than Border Collie trials.  In our area, there was one herding trainer, and she was 4 hours away. There may not have been herdidng trials but there were the occasional Herding Instinct Test.  Desha and I had so much fun at her first HIC, we went to about 6 of them. Desha was a natural.

The show photos are of Desha at the 1999 Conneticut BSCA National specialty. Desha was entered in the Veterans class at this specialty. While she was over 14 years old she was in the 10 years and over class. With a large class of very young competition, she placed 4th. She had a ball.
